The butterfly exhibition will be replaced by the first museum co-working space

In the second building of the main building, the interactive exhibition "Flying Flowers", which was dedicated to butterflies of the world, was dismantled. The work of this temporary project has been extended several times since 2018 at the request of visitors, but according to the rules for storing the entomological collection, the exhibits are sent for "rest" in the storage facility.
The exhibition site is being developed into a co-working space, which will be part of the Museum Design Laboratory. It will house shelves and showcases with exhibits of the ethnographic collection, catalogs of our museum's collections, and places for independent and team work within the framework of the project "It's all about the fish". For the first time in the museum there will be a platform outside the expositions for creative interaction and communication of people of different professions united by a common goal and interests.
If you haven't figured out how fish relate to the ethnographic collection and what the Museum Design Lab is inventing, read more here.
The project is implemented with the support of Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
