Who are you, Arseniev? This is the question with which our new exhibition project begins.

September 10 is the 150th birthday of the outstanding traveler, explorer, scientist and writer Vladimir Klavdievich Arseniev (1872-1930). His name is known outside our region, and his classic descriptions of local nature and the image of Dersu Uzal are a calling card of the Russian Far East.

Over time, Vladimir Arsenyev, who largely determined the scientific and cultural development of the Far Eastern region, began to lose the features of a historical personality and turned into a generalized image of a traveler, a writer, not indifferent to nature and people, a man-patriot of his small motherland. In our opinion, the anniversary is an opportunity to talk about the personality of Vladimir Klavdievich, to "discover" him again, "returning the image to the original image".

We invite you to the exhibition, where there are unique memorial items and collections - the pride of Grodekovo museum - gathered by Arseniev during his expeditions in different years.
