Catalog "V. K. Arsenyev's Archaeological Collection from the Collection of Khabarovsk Krai Museum n.a. N.I. Grodekov". N.I. Grodekov".
According to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the year 2022 is declared the year of celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great traveler, ethnographer, geographer, writer Vladimir Klavdievich Arsenyev. His name is closely connected with the history of the Khabarovsk Territorial Museum named after N.I. Grodekov. He headed the POIRGO Museum in Khabarovsk for more than ten years.
Within the framework of the anniversary celebration the Khabarovsk Krai Museum realized the issue of the first catalog of archeological collections collected by Vladimir Klavdievich during his expeditions in the Far East of Russia.
The catalog consists of two main sections: the first is represented by "Arseniev's" collections (i.e. those he personally collected), and the second includes collections that came into the collection during Arseniev's work as director of the museum. From each collection, a selection was made of the most interesting and revealing items: about 400 in total. Also for the convenience of researchers, it was decided to add an appendix at the end of the catalog in the form of a table, indicating the number of the collection, the place and date of its collection, as well as with a brief general characteristic and the number of items in the collection.
The publication is intended for historians, archaeologists, museum workers, and readers interested in the history and archaeology of the Far East.
The catalog will go on sale very soon.
