Field work at Bolshoi Khekhtsir. 2017 г.

During the field work on the territory of the reserve "Zapovednoe Priamurie" branch "Bolshekhetsirsky" a number of archaeological monuments of different types (burial mounds, locations and settlements) were discovered. One of the richest in objects of cultural heritage is the Bykova River, where so far found 4 settlements. In the 2017 season, a small archaeological excavation was laid at the site of one small utility pit.

The excavated soil showed that the area (9 m) had been cleared at the specified place.²) from large and sharp stones of the terrace, leveling the place and equipping it for a sufficiently powerful hearth, where ash accumulations stained the ground black. Few artifacts have been found, they are unimpressive, but this most likely indicates the temporary character of the inhabitants of the ancient settlement.
