In the period from 26.08 to 05.09.2017 employees of NILAIP together with employees of the State University of Kyushu and Tokyo University conducted a joint archaeological survey in Oktyabrsky and Leninsky municipal districts of the Jewish Autonomous Region, in order to identify monuments of the Neolithic era (Malyshev, Voznesenov and other cultures).

An exploratory trench (5 sq.m.) (Photos 1-3) was made during the survey of the Rucheiki neighborhood (Oktyabrsky Municipal District) at the site of the collection of lifting materials from the early 1990s. As a result of the conducted works the materials of Malyshev Neolithic culture (further ISC), not previously identified in the uplift assemblages. Unfortunately, the ceramic materials of ISC are hardly subject to reconstruction because of their strong fragmentation (photo 4). Also were obtained interesting ceramic complexes and a fragment of the excavation, belonging to the final Neolithic (1700-900 BC. - Coppa culture) (Photos 5,6,7). Part of the final Neolithic ceramic material is reconstructed (1-2 vessels). The monument itself is very promising in terms of archaeological excavations because of the undisturbed final Neolithic cultural layer.

The previously known monuments Bidzhan 1-3 and Ust-Ungun sopka were examined in the Lenin Municipal District of EAO. Unfortunately, no Neolithic materials were identified at these monuments, but during the survey of the banks of the Ungun River (upstream), on one of the hills (Photo 7), a settlement (tentatively named Bidzhan-4) containing materials of the Kondo Neolithic culture (onward CNA), currently the most western of the known monuments of KNK (photo 9,10). Unfortunately, due to the damage of the KNC cultural horizon by later inhabitants, the monument is of excavation interest only in terms of obtaining archaeological materials for radiocarbon and other analyses of KNC materials, as the stratigraphy and planography of the KNC period are destroyed.
