Presentation of a book by a Nanai writer
On October 24, the Grodekovsky Museum hosted the presentation of the book "Memoirs" by G.G. Hodger (1929-2006), a Nanai writer and winner of the Gorky State Prize. G.G. Hodger (1929-2006) "Memoirs".
The publication was commissioned by the regional public organization "Association of Indigenous Minorities of the North of Khabarovsk Krai" with the financial support of the Russian Copper Company "Amur Minerals". In addition to memoirs, the book includes an essay by G.G. Hodger "A Brief History of My People".
Among the indigenous peoples of Khabarovsk Krai, the Nanai people are the most represented in literary creativity. The history of the Nanai people includes the names of the untimely departed writers Bogdan Ivanovich Hodger and Kisa Stepanovich Geiker, but the first most important Nanai writer was Grigory Gibivich Hodger. He turned to the spiritual heritage of his people, to folklore, which accumulated the richest moral experience.
In 1973, G.G. Hodger was awarded the Gorky State Prize for his trilogy "Amur Wide". M. Gorky State Prize. This book is commonly referred to as an encyclopedia of the life of the Nanai people. After this trilogy G.G. Hodger wrote four novels and more than ten novellas, worked in the genre of essay and journalism. His book of travel notes "Amur - the river of relatives" (1965) was a great success. G.G. Hodger's books have been translated into many languages of the peoples of the former USSR and foreign countries. For services in the development of national literature G.G. Khodjer was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the Order of Friendship of Peoples.
The reader always tries to imagine the author who is present on the pages of his books. The words of N.M. Karamzin come to mind: "The Creator is always portrayed in the creation, and often against his will. (...) You take up the pen and want to be an author: ask yourself, in private, without witnesses, sincerely: what am I like? For you want to paint a portrait of your heart and soul...".
G.G. Hodger's memoirs will allow the reader to learn more about the author and the prototypes of the heroes of his works.
The presentation of the book took place in an atmosphere of great emotional and intellectual uplift.
