Open lecture by E.S. Likhacheva "History of model building".

When did the first apartment buildings appear? Why did they start to build standard housing? How is a Khrushchev building better than a modern apartment building?

Yelizaveta Likhacheva, art historian, director of the A.V. Shchusev State Museum of Architecture, told about the features and development of standard housing at the open lecture "History of Standard Construction". Yelizaveta Stanislavna is known not only as a great art historian, but also as an energetic, lively lecturer, who respects direct discussion with the audience.
A lecture for students and employees of the Institute of Architecture and Design, museum professionals and all those interested in the history of architecture was held at the Multifunctional intellectual center of Talnakh State University.
The meeting was organized by the Grodekovo Museum and Tatarstan State University. The event was supported by the Russian Historical Society.

Shchusev State Research Museum of Architecture - one of the world's largest research centers for the study and popularization of architectural heritage.

The museum continues the traditions of the merged in 1963 Scientific Research Museum of Architecture of the USSR Academy of Construction and Architecture (founded in 1934) and the Museum of Russian Architecture (established in 1945). It bears the name of its founder and first director, the Russian and Soviet architect Alexei Shchusev. In addition to its exhibition activities, the museum engages in scientific research and promotes the restoration of monuments of architecture. The Shchusev Museum of Architecture is considered to be the largest institution of its kind in the world.
