220 years of justice and the rule of law

Today was the opening ceremony of the exhibition "220 years of justice and the rule of law", dedicated to the anniversary of the Ministry of Justice of Russia.

The exhibition is a joint project of the Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in Khabarovsk Krai and Jewish Autonomous Region and Khabarovsk Krai Museum named after N.I. Grodekov, aimed at cultural and historical education of the population. 

The opening ceremony was attended by Olga Shevchenko, head of the Office, Alexander Filatov, acting Minister of Culture of the Khabarovsk region, director of the museum Ivan Kryukov, heads of services and institutions of the region subordinated to the Ministry of Justice of Russia, the employees of the Office.

"Knowing history is important and necessary. Familiarity with the history and development of the agency, changes in its functions in the system of state administration is not only interesting from an educational point of view, but also important for the further development of the agency. Speaking about history of justice it was important for us to tell about Ministry of Justice of Russia from Russian Empire till post-Soviet period, and living on the Far East we just couldn't help reflecting the special role of justice in development of our region in the exposition" - said Olga Shevchenko.
