All-Russian School of Museum Development "Beyond the Borders of Capitals"
From September 22 to 28 in the Vologda region in Totma, employees of the Grodekovo Museum, Alyona Marsovna Nizeeva and Rada Fedyaeva, took part in the All-Russian School of Museum Development "Beyond the Borders of Capitals". New Local History. Actual practices of modernization and development".
During the whole week the participants from 27 regions got acquainted with the experience of their colleagues, successful practices, exchanged ideas of museum development, practiced conservation of organic products, discussed how to interact effectively with the authorities, talked about the peculiarities of accounting, storage and display of weapons and objects with precious metals and received a check-list on creating a concept of acquisition of collections.
The program was built around the practices of modernization of local history museums and divided into thematic blocks:
- Museum management
- Museum in dialog with people
- Designing museum expositions
- Research and fundraising
- Peer experience: working practices of the museum fraternity.
The listeners and speakers discussed how to get away from monotony when building expositions of local history museums, how deeply the staff should be engaged in scientific and local history activities, what objects can translate the peculiarities of each particular locality.
Representatives from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Kazan, Kotlas and Totma participated in the event as experts.
In the nine years of the school's existence, employees from the Far East participated for the first time.
