Grodekovo Museum held a creative meeting with the artist German Palkin

Khabarovsk Krai Museum named after N.I. Grodekov has completed activities planned in the framework of the Year, devoted to the 150th anniversary of V.K. Arseniev and held a creative meeting with the Khabarovsk artist-illustrator German Alexeyevich Palkin.

German Alexeyevich, a graduate of the Art and Graphic Department, illustrated various works of Far Eastern writers. At the exhibition "Who are you, Arseniev?", talked about the works related to the book "Across the Ussuriysk Territory", asked questions about how the artist chooses a book and starts working on images, what goals he sets for himself when he creates an illustration, how scenes are chosen for illustration and much more. Herman's daughter Polina and granddaughter Natalia, who were also involved in creating illustrations for various publications, were invited to the meeting.

The creative meeting with German Palkin was the first event of the project "Khabarovsk Art Graf. Quality Mark," which Grodekovo Museum timed to coincide with the year of the teacher and mentor.

For many years the museum has been closely connected with Khabarovsk Artgraf, among the iconic names are Alexander Lepetukhin, Evgeny Volgushev, Grigory Zorin, Evgeny Fentisov, Bronislav Tamulevich, Vladimir Torgashin, Elvira Kirichenko, Andrey Ten, Svetlana Tamulevich and others. The works of the artists are not just part of the collection of paintings and drawings, they are represented in the exhibitions. Many authors took part in creating paintings and decorating permanent expositions, temporary exhibitions and printed editions. And today the graduates of the department work in the museum, being a part of our creative team.

The project "Khabarovsk Artgraf. Quality Mark" is a series of thematic events of different formats, dedicated to the teaching traditions and creative heritage of the faculty, the cooperation between artists and the museum. The partner is the Faculty of Arts, Advertising and Design of the Pedagogical Institute of the Pacific State University.

Herman Palkin is a well-known graphic artist and painter. His works are always recognizable by the expressive plot, compositional integrity, accuracy of pictorial elements and technical skill. He is known as one of the best poster artists and illustrators of famous works of Far Eastern writers.

Book illustration is one of the strongest sides of his creativity. He is particularly successful with images related to the flora and fauna of the Far East, images of tigers, wolves, bears, wild boars, badgers in the taiga environment.
