The exhibition "Dreams of Siberia" is open in the State Historical Museum since October 28.

November 1

It is a vivid and unusual journey through time and space: through the forest, mountains, steppes, filled with architectural and sculptural forms, as well as images of indigenous peoples.

Artifacts from the Neolithic period, zoomorphic images from the Iron Age, amazing compositions of the Permian animal style, weapons and ceramics, ancient masks and life-size copies of thousand-year-old stone steles.

The exhibition also features works by contemporary artists who live in different cities of Siberia and are redefining its culture.

"Dreams of Siberia" tells about the ancient and medieval past of Siberia and the Far East, so among the exhibits at the exhibition you can see one of the most striking examples of ancient art of the Far East - "Kondonskaya Venus".

This unique artifact was discovered in 1963 by the expedition, led by A.P. Okladnikov, during excavations of the ancient settlement, located on the territory of modern settlement Kondon (Khabarovsk Territory, 80 km from Komsomolsk-on-Amur). "Kondonskaya Venus" (or "Kondonskaya Nefertiti") was made of clay by the ancient inhabitants of this settlement about 4500 years ago.

You can look at the unique exhibit at the exhibition of the State Historical Museum in Moscow until January 30, 2023.

The exhibition may also be of interest to those who do not live in Moscow. The events are prepared in such a way that everyone can take part - the events take place both in person in a lecture hall and in an online format.
