Night at Grodekovo Museum-2022" took place

May 25

On May 20, our museum for the 11th time joined the international campaign "Night of Museums

The year 2022 is the 150th anniversary of Vladimir Arsenyev's birth, the 100th anniversary of the end of the Civil War, the year of folk art and cultural heritage of Russia.

The program includes: traveling through the funds, author and theatrical tours, water coloring and a win-win lottery, historical reconstructions and national rituals, all kinds of master classes, quests, creative tasks and competitions, photo zones and film screenings, interactive laboratories and live music.

Dance master classes were held on the outdoor area. The guests were offered to visit the ecological glade, the night "A-market" and to join the "Survivalists", where they learned about taiga tips and sang songs with a guitar.

Lovers of adventure and challenges participated in the new museum game "Big Quest". Players gained both new impressions and knowledge. During the quest the visitors showed their wit and ingenuity in counting and logic, as well as their skills in calligraphy and painting! The first participants who had successfully solved the tasks got valuable prizes.

As part of the "Night at the Museum" program everyone could take part in creating the installation based on the illustrations of Khabarovsk artists. Under the guidance of Andrei Ten, visitors assembled a total installation from sheets of paper, as well as came up with and developed a new design of already known characters.

By the way, in honor of the 150th anniversary of Vladimir Arseniev, we opened the doors to the storage, where all finds of Vladimir Klavdievich during 10 years of his work as director of Khabarovsk Krai Museum are kept. During this time he gathered the richest botanical, ornithological, entomological, ichthyologic and other collections, which enriched the museum's collection. During the tour of Arsenyev's collections the visitors of "Night at the Museum" saw archeological objects obtained during excavations near the Amur Bridge, ethnographic collections delivered from the expeditions along the Amur Region, as well as personal and expeditionary photographs.

Also everyone could listen about Vladimir Klavdievich's heritage at a special theatrical tour "Who are you, Arseniev?".

And for those who wanted to take home not only a good mood, but also to acquire unique skills and make their own souvenirs, we offered a great option - to attend the master classes! Toys made of hay, amulets against evil spirits or spoilage, souvenirs made of fish skin, Nanai embroidery - all this, and much more, was created by our masters.

With the help of the "Animation Studio," visitors expanded their imagination, learned how to design and create their own characters, and mastered animation techniques. And in the animation club we watched and discussed Russian author's animation.

Especially for all the guests of the museum, everyone's favorite "Peasant Farmstead" was transformed into the immersive theater scene! The team of the playback theater studio "Red Che" invited to non-classical theatrical sketches created for those who are ready to become a co-author and hero of the play. The stories of the guests of the "Night at the Museum" and the spontaneous acting of the actors made the performance unique and inimitable, because it was born "here and now".

In addition to the immersive theater we opened a museum movie theater in the attic! The team of Khabarovsk documentary studio "Save", winners of the Moscow festival "TRAVEL FILM in Russian", who worked in Japan, Vladivostok and Sakhalin, showed unique footage of life of indigenous people of the region.

No less unusual and fascinating was the exposition "Traditional culture of indigenous peoples of the Khabarovsk region. The visitors were entertained by the folk ensemble "Ilga Dyarini", there were rituals: welcoming guests "Agdapsi Bachin", purification "Or Chiori", as well as the rite "Dressing of the Nanai bride". And the people's choreographic ensemble "Senkure" rendered the authenticity of the culture of the peoples of the Khabarovsk region in a spectacular dance performance!

The screening of "The Forest People of the Udehe" also helped us immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of traditional culture. In 1995, the film-travel of one of the founders of Soviet ethnographic cinema, director Alexander Litvinov, about the life of the Udege people was included in the top five best documentaries of all time. Alexander Arkadievich closely cooperated with the researcher of the Far East - Vladimir Arseniev. The first experience of their cooperation was the film "Forest People".

The events of 1922 were not left aside either! To mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the Civil War in Russia, the Grodekovo Museum prepared locations dedicated to the events of the 1920s. Blitz-excursions through the exhibition "Volochayev Days" and the spatial-literary portal "Exodus" with elements of history led by the actor of the Theatre of Young People's Friendship Peter Nesterenko helped to understand the subtleties of the events that followed the revolution of 1917.

In the hall "Civil War in the Far East" in a heated literary battle faced the White Guard and Red Army poets of the XX century! And the muse Calliope - musician and poetess Irina Batrchenko inspired the exploits.

Traditionally, the program ended with a performance by the Cherry Cocktail cover band!
