The festival was held in Moscow from May 23 to 26 after a four-year break. The festival was held at seven official venues and brought together more than 250 experts from the leading cultural institutions of the country. The title theme was "Museums are People".

The main protagonists of Intermuseum are museum workers, whose work ensures the audience's contact with culture and its diversity. Human capital and Russia's cultural heritage are the key semantic priorities of the festival. The business program includes discussions, presentations by leaders of the museum sphere, debates, public interviews on the topic of the industry development.

One of the speakers at the panel discussion "Museum to Museum. What prevents the exchange of exhibits?" was Ivan Kryukov, General Director of Grodekovsky. The panel discussed:

  • How to increase the number of collaborations and joint projects between museums in Russia?
  • Why are inter-museum exchanges necessary and what do they bring to institutions?
  • Should one share one's collection and give unconditional priority in exhibiting and publishing works to one's museum, or is it more profitable to be a "curator"?

However, this time Intermuseum became not only an important professional platform, but also made a step towards the audience. After all, it is the viewer's attention that forms requests for the museum community. The public program featured more than 140 events that brought the general audience closer to current cultural initiatives.
