IkraFest. Day three.

The third day of IkraFest was dedicated to the reflection of folk motifs in modern art and design.

Daria Petrushkina, the author and head of the project "It's All About Fish", told about the peculiarities of ethnic style in different areas of design, global and domestic trends in ethnodesign. The tour showed how the exhibitors presented traditional images and materials in their creative products.

The basic principles of ornament stylization could be mastered at the master class. Project participant Anastasia Tychenko helped develop an author's print based on Nanai ornament, create a print with it and decorate a shopper bag.

Musical art was represented by the ethno-punk label "Dyariori."Another resident of the Laboratory of Museum Design, Andrei Ganin, is a member of this program. The musical duo performed ethnic ambient, combining calm and measured sounds of the taiga, audio recordings of Ulch, Nanai and Udegean songs and modern electronic music. Traditional motifs are represented by folk songs and chants recorded back in the 1980s by Nikolai Kile, as well as modern audio files recorded by label members on trips to national villages.
