Announcement of the lecture "Historians about Historians"

On October 4, 2023, an open lecture "Historians about Historians" will be held in the conference hall. It is a joint project of the Grodekovsky Museum and the Khabarovsk Krai branch of the Russian Historical Society.

This series of lectures is devoted to the biographies of outstanding representatives of historical science of Khabarovsk Krai in the XX-XXI centuries. The lecture on the historian E.M. Shchagin will be delivered by Stanislav Vadimovich Slivko, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Higher School of Pedagogy and History of TOGU.

In the lecture Stanislav Vadimovich will review the rich life path and activities of Ernst Mikhailovich Shchagin. 

In 1961-1967 Ernst Mikhailovich was vice-rector for scientific work at the Khabarovsk Pedagogical Institute and undertook extensive activities in the development of historical science and training of historians-researchers in Khabarovsk. Ernst Mikhailovich actively developed agrarian history during the revolutionary events in the Far East, which led to the appearance of his most important work "The October Revolution in the Village of the Eastern Suburbs of Russia. 1917 - summer 1918."
