Khabarovsk Krai Court turns 90 years old on October 11, 2024.
90 years is a whole epoch, which is reflected in the pages of the history of the judicial system of the Far East and our state as a whole.
The establishment of the court was not easy: the years of political repression, the Great Patriotic War, the difficult post-war period, the crisis perestroika period... These are the years of radical transformation of legislation and the judicial system itself.
At present, the Khabarovsk Territory Court is composed of the Presidium, the Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases, the Judicial Collegium for Administrative Cases, and the Judicial Collegium for Criminal Cases. The staff of the court consists of 74 judges, as well as staff of assistant judges, consultants, secretaries of court sessions and other specialists ensuring the functioning of the court.
The year 2024 will mark 75 years since the criminal trial of Japanese criminals was held in Khabarovsk. The Khabarovsk trial is an example of the inevitability of punishment for crimes against humanity. It is not only a legal, but also a moral and ethical judgment. Its holding is an expression of our country's principled position on the fact of gross violation of the norms of international law, including the ban on the use of chemical and biological weapons. Its significance is multifaceted: it became the first significant step towards the prohibition of biological weapons of mass destruction, the forerunner of the UN Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxic Weapons and on Their Destruction. In the context of the NWO and a new round of the fight against Nazism, the relevance of the exhibition for patriotic education is increasing.
