Inclusive exhibition of creative works "Texture rules"

Each type of arts and crafts and painting technique has its own unique features, elements and "character". In addition to the color palette and composition, the texture of the material or paint layer helps to convey the author's intention. Endowed, as a rule, with an auxiliary function, the texture often acquires an independent expressive meaning. Surface relief can determine the mood of a creative work.
Have you ever noticed that cross-stitch embroidery, with its clean lines and rhythmic patterns, creates a sense of calm? In addition, it is associated with family traditions and coziness. Beads allow you to create more colorful and dynamic compositions, in which each bead can become an accent, attracting attention due to the luster and volume. Paper cutouts are elegance and sophistication combined with minimalism. In painting, rough, voluminous strokes add expression to the work, while smooth surfaces add elegance. Often the choice of material or technique is driven by a commitment to a current trend. Going green? Choose natural materials such as wood, jute cord, cotton threads or give new life to old products. Want glitter and complex shapes? Work with epoxy resin.
The exhibition "Texture rules" presents works made in various techniques of arts and crafts and painting. The authors of the works are people with disabilities, but with boundless imagination and desire to create. These are children and adults living in Khabarovsk, Verkhnebureinsky, Sovetsko-Gavansky and Vyazemsky districts of the region. For some of them creativity was a hobby and a way of self-expression, for others it was a means of developing or strengthening certain skills, motor skills, concentration, and later it became a favorite activity.
Thanks to the active assistance of the Khabarovsk Regional Organization of the All-Russian Public Organization "All-Russian Society of the Disabled" (VOI), the successes of many authors today become a source of inspiration for others. The organization unites representatives of different professions, people with different hobbies, ready to share their experience and creativity with others. The Grodekovsky Museum is pleased to partner with the exhibition and include it in a number of its inclusive projects.
