Guardians

The exhibition presents sculptural works by Konstantin Grechanov - Khabarovsk artist-ceramist, member of the Union of Artists of Russia.
In his work, a special place is occupied by a series of "Guardians of the family" - female images inspired by the cultural heritage of the region. The prototype for them was the "Kondon Nefertiti" - a clay statuette from the Neolithic era of the Lower Amur Region (IV-III millennia BC), found during the excavations by A.P. Okladnikov in 1963 in the village of Kondon.
Some of the sculptures are based on petroglyphs - images on basalt boulders of the Lower Amur and Ussuri rivers (XII-IX thousand B.C.), contain images of bear and tiger - totem animals of indigenous peoples of the Amur region, fish - a symbol of spirituality, harmony, wisdom and fertility.
