The palash is a type of cold weapon that combines elements of a sword and saber. Like the sword, the palash has a long straight (sometimes slightly curved) blade, capable of stabbing and hacking. From the saber the sword borrowed a single-sided (less often with a half and double-sided sharpening) blade and the ability to inflict stabbing blows.
Having first appeared among the nomads of Eurasia in the V-VII centuries AD, this weapon has undergone a long evolution over a thousand years. For example, European swords of the XVII-XIX centuries differed from their eastern counterparts by a good hand protection, consisting of a hilt with a cup and shackles, connecting the cup with the head of the hilt (tip)
