Museums of the Moscow Kremlin received departmental awards

On February 27, 2025, a solemn ceremony of awarding the museum staff with departmental awards was held in the Armory. Alexei Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, presented a medal for assistance to the Russian Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic to Elena Gagarina, General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, and a commendation to the staff of the Moscow Kremlin Museums represented by Natalia Afanasyeva, Deputy General Director for Storage, Accounting and Restoration.

From 2018 to 2024, the Moscow Kremlin Museums organized 8 major exhibitions in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk, during which more than 250 thousand residents and guests of the Far East saw over 900 masterpieces from the Armory and other Kremlin museums.

"The Far East is a region that is experiencing accelerated, outpacing economic growth and is attracting more and more attention from both citizens of our country and foreign visitors. In order to make the Far East more and more interesting and attractive for those who live and work there and for visitors, the development of museums, the creation of new cultural facilities and tourist attractions plays a huge role," said Alexei Chekunkov.

"We have been cooperating with museums of the Far East for many years and each time we make special exhibitions for the V.K. Arsenyev Museum of the History of the Far East in Vladivostok and the N.I. Grodekov Khabarovsk Regional Museum. N.I. Grodekov, exhibitions that are of interest to them. It is extremely important to show in regional museums collections that have no analogues in the world. I think that our activities will continue, and many more times we will please the people of the Far East with the projects we create for this region," said Elena Gagarina.

Natalia Afanasyeva emphasized that the creation of projects for the museums of the Far East is a huge work of the whole team, over the years of cooperation more than 160 employees of the Moscow Kremlin Museums took part in them.

In August 2025, as part of a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Culture of Khabarovsk Krai, the Grodekov Khabarovsk Krai Museum will open the exhibition "Awards of Russia. For works for the benefit of the Fatherland", timed to the 300th anniversary of the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky and the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The exposition will display military awards, orders and medals of Russia, as well as items awarded for military service in earlier periods of Russian history.
