Musicians of military bands of Russia and Belarus will perform in Khabarovsk Krai

From May 27 to June 2, the cultural program of the XII International Military Music Festival "Amur Waves" will be held at 12 venues of the regional capital and the City of Youth. Tickets can be purchased by online.
Solo concerts will be held in the City Palace of Culture, the House of Officers of the Eastern Military District, the Regional Friendship Palace "Rus", Khabarovsk Musical Theater and in the concert hall of the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Society.

"Thanks to the support of the Governor of Khabarovsk Krai Mikhail Degtyarev, we traditionally hold one of the Amur Waves festival, one of the favorites of the residents of the region. At present we already know the groups that will definitely become a part of the musical history: they are our regular participants, debutants and even foreign guests. As always, we expect full houses at the concerts, and although we organize online broadcasting of some performances, we still invite everyone to visit the musical festival at each of the venues. Especially for young people there is a bonus - they will be able to buy free tickets with "Pushkin cards", - said the Minister of Culture of the region Yuri Yermoshkin.
One of the oldest military orchestral ensembles in the Far East, whose history dates back to 1884, the Military Orchestra of the Eastern Military District Headquarters from Khabarovsk will delight the audience. It has been a regular participant of the festival since 2012, and this year it will give an away concert in the Drama Theater of Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
Also among the regular participants are the Military Band of the Pacific Fleet Headquarters from Vladivostok, the Military Band of the Eastern District of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation (Khabarovsk), which for many years demonstrates the program of the platz-concert at the festival together with the Ceremonial Ensemble of Drummers "Grand-Triumph".
The orchestra of the Suvorov Moscow Military Music School named after Lieutenant General V.M. Khalilov will also perform for the Khabarovsk audience. For more than 80 years of history the school has trained more than three thousand musicians. Today the school proudly bears the name of one of its illustrious graduates, Lieutenant General V.M. Khalilov. Suvorovtsy students demonstrate high performing skills not only in Russia, but also abroad.
In addition, one of the most famous military orchestras in the world, the Central Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (Moscow), with which such famous musicians as Y. Rozum, A. Pakhmutova, I. Kobzon, R. Ibragimov and many others performed, will fly to Khabarovsk.
The debutant of the XII International Military Music Festival "Amur Waves" will be the 23rd Military Band of the Joint Strategic Command of the Military District, Honor Guard (St. Petersburg). It is the successor and continuer of traditions of one of the oldest military orchestras of Russia - the Court Musicians' Choir, created in 1882. The orchestrators provide for events with the participation of first persons of state, heads of government and presidents of foreign countries. The orchestra's music can be heard at the Mariinsky Theater Hall, the Hermitage, and the St. Petersburg State Philharmonic Hall named after D.D. Shostakovich.

Since 2003, the orchestra has held the title of "Honored Band of the Republic of Belarus". Military musicians have performed at prestigious festivals in Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, France, Poland, Sweden and Russia. Participant of the largest military music festival in Russia - "Spasskaya Tower". The orchestra successfully continues and develops the best traditions of professional musical art.
The large-scale festival will end with a traditional visit to the alley of military musicians in the park area of the Regional Circus and a marching parade along the main street of Khabarovsk - Muravyov-Amursky Street.
Let us remind you that "Amur Waves" was launched in 2012 on the initiative of Lieutenant General Valery Khalilov, Head of the Military Orchestral Service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The event is organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the government of Khabarovsk Krai and the city administration.
