It's all about the fish!

The project of the Association of Museums of the Khabarovsk Territory and the Grodekovo Museum "It's All About Fish" won the 2nd grant competition of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and received financial support in the amount of 5.1 million rubles.

The project "It's all about the fish" is a collaboration between museums and representatives of creative businesses. It will unite the museums of Khabarovsk region and creative industries of the region for the creation of new quality products reflecting the regional identity. The image of FISH in its broad understanding of historicity and spiritual culture of the region was chosen as the "business card" of the project.

In the course of the project, a Museum Design Lab will be created at the Grodekovo Museum, where the creative community will be offered objects from the museums' ethnographic collection for study, inspiration and collaboration... Projects developed by the laboratory residents will be voted on by experts and viewers during the presentation of their work results in a traveling exhibition format. The best ideas of creative products will be implemented and presented at the exhibition-festival "IKRA" (Amur Festival of Creative Development Ideas) together with the original exhibits from the museum collections, which served as prototypes for the ideas of the Laboratory participants.

The project will be a startup for aspiring representatives of the creative industries. It will lay the foundation for mutually beneficial cooperation of cultural institutions and creative industries, the development of regional identity, creative business and tourism in the Khabarovsk region.

Creative curators and participants of the Laboratory will be Khabarovsk fashion designers Tatiana Vasilyeva and Denis Burlakov, who will share their own experiences and produce a collection of clothes, designer Alexei Tamulevich will create a series of accessories, based on ethnographic style of museum objects, their sacredness and utility. Everyone who has already established himself as an artist and designer or is a novice creator is welcome to join the project "It's all about the fish".

The partners of the project are the Khabarovsk Regional Museum named after N.I. Grodekov, Salon Studio "Wings", "Watercolor Souvenirs" company, the Museum of Fine Arts of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Nikolaev Regional Museum named after N.I. Grodekov. The museum is located in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Nikolayevsky Local History Museum named after V.E. Rozov, the Amur City Museum of Local History, the Bikinsky Local History Museum named after N.G. Evseev, the Local History Museum of Nanaysky District. The head of the project is Daria Petrushkina.
