Press release of the drawing contest "Draw the Victory Tree" for the participants of the Victory Territory
On October 22, the Victory Museum launched the international contest "Draw the Victory Tree". Everyone can become its participants, as well as the authors of a collector's series of New Year cards.
"The theme of this year's contest is family. Participants are invited to draw a postcard depicting family traditions of preparing for the most favorite holiday - New Year. For example, as all together gather at the festive table or decorate the house, make gifts or New Year's toys with their hands, exchange gifts or dance around the beautiful Christmas tree", - told in the Museum of Victory.
"In addition, you can draw how the preparation and meeting of the New Year during the Great Patriotic War, how our grandparents celebrated this holiday and how today this day is celebrated by those who perform their duty to the Motherland," the organizers added.
The best works selected by an expert jury will become the basis for a limited edition of collectible New Year cards.
Also, this year a special nomination for the participants of the International Project "Territory of Victory" was established and an additional prize fund was prepared. When registering works on website it is necessary to specify "Victory Territory" in the column "School/organization".
Works for the contest can be submitted until November 24, 2024. Drawings made in any fine art technique (oil, watercolor, ink, pencils, crayons, gouache, digital drawing, etc.) are accepted. The works will be evaluated in five age categories: 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-17 years old and over 18 years old (adults).
On December 2, a virtual exhibition will open on the Victory Museum website, which will include drawings by participants. Users will be able to choose any favorite postcard and vote for it until December 9, 2024, as well as send it by e-mail to friends and family, wishing them a Happy New Year. The works with the most votes will receive the "Audience Award".
The results of the contest will be summarized on December 12. The solemn awarding ceremony, where the winners will be congratulated by the Chief Santa Claus of the capital, will be held in the Victory Museum on December 20. The winners will receive gifts from partners, as well as an author's copy of collectible New Year cards. The youngest laureates after the awarding ceremony will be able to visit the New Year's historical quest "Victory tree", which is held for the first time in the large-scale exposition "The feat of the People". All participants will receive personalized certificates.
