Mikhail Degtyarev: Cooperation with the Cossacks is a guarantee of peace, peace and successful development of our region

As part of the celebration of the Day of the Russian Cossacks - September 1 - in the Khabarovsk Krai Museum named after N.I. Grodekov. Governor Mikhail Degtyarev took part in the presentation of the N.I. Grodekov Museum in Khabarovsk official website Ussuriysk Military Cossack Society, which was held on the basis of the exhibition "Cossacks in the service of the state" from the collection of the State Historical Museum, Moscow. 

The event was also attended by Roman Miroshin, Deputy Chairman of the regional government for infrastructure, ataman of the Khabarovsk District Cossack Society, and Metropolitan Artemy of Khabarovsk and Priamursk.

- For centuries Cossacks have not only defended the borders of the Motherland, but also preserved its traditions and culture. At all times, your predecessors were at the forefront of battles, and thanks to them the Far East was settled and developed. In the region there is the headquarters of the Ussuriysk Military Cossack Society, which unites eight subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District and thousands of people. Today, 49 of your brothers are participating in special operations in Ukraine, dozens of them are going through military field training camps of units of the country's Combat Army Reserve, - Mikhail Degtyarev noted at the start of the presentation.

An equally important component of the Cossacks' work is the preservation of historical memory, respect for ancestors and patriotic education of young people. The head of the region emphasized the importance of holding more such events.

- One of the points of the Strategy of the State Policy of Russia with regard to the Cossacks for 2021-2030, signed by the President, concerns the preservation and development of their spiritual heritage and culture. I can say with confidence: you are honorably fulfilling the assignment of the head of state. And our cooperation with you is a guarantee of calm, peace and successful development of our region. And today's meeting is proof of that, - The Governor addressed the Cossacks present at the exhibition.

- The site is not just an information resource about Cossacks. It is integrated with the exhibits of the museum, scientific and historical studies of the Cossacks. Now more than ever it is important that our fellow citizens, even those abroad, can get this information, know their roots, the history of their ancestors and understand: Cossacks at all times are faith, strong spirit, courage, love for the motherland, - Roman Miroshin explained.
