The "Let's Fight" fan show.
In the 19th century, the fan served as a reliable way of communication between a lady and a gentleman. There was a symbolic code of communication between women and men by means of gestures using a fan - the so-called "fan language".
One had to be able to, as they said at the time, "swing". It was believed that it was in the movement or placement of the fan that a true lady was revealed. The art of waving a fan with meaning was mastered in no less than three months, and many girls spent whole hours at the mirror, practicing. Girls began to learn the fan language early, and "waving" was allowed from the age of 14.
At the fan show visitors will learn how ladies chose a fan, what the color and material of this eloquent accessory says, as well as learn how to hold a fan correctly and give secret signs with it: to declare their love, to set the date, to admire and be saddened, etc.
The event "Let's Swing!" will be of interest to a wide range of people from 14 years old.
