Thematic tour "As in the best houses" (12+)

At the turn of the XIX - XX centuries in Western Russia salons were a common cultural phenomenon. Wives of governor-generals, officers, who found themselves in Khabarovsk on duty of their husbands, got used to a certain way of life in the Russian capitals and sought to introduce elements of salon culture in the Amur region.

In the salons they were attracted by their chamberliness, aesthetic or general philosophical orientation, elitism. Their constant attendance determined one's belonging to intellectual society.

At the tour "As in the best houses" we will talk about the special role of the salon hostess, musical instruments and decor in her living room, etiquette, fashion and specific salon activities.
