Educational program for the exhibition "Grodekov: Time and Place" from the collection of the N.I. Grodekov Khabarovsk Territory Museum

As part of the celebration of the anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Ivanovich Grodekov, the Grodekov Museum will host an educational program, including a series of lectures on the personality and activities of Grodekov.

The year 2023 marks 180 years since the birth of Nikolai Ivanovich Grodekov. He was a brilliant administrator of the Far East in the late 19th - early 20th centuries, from 1898 to 1902 he held the position of Priamur Governor-General and commander of the troops of the Priamur Military District. He also initiated the establishment of the Priamursky Department of the Imperial Russian Geographical Society and was its first chairman. He entered the cultural history of the region as the founder of the IRGO Museum (now the Grodekovsky Museum), scientist, philanthropist, collector and donor.

At the lecture "Governor-General Grodekov" we will talk about the activities of Grodekov-administrator as vice-governor and governor of Priamurye, the main directions of economic and social development during his leadership of the region.

During the lecture "Chinese Eastern Railway" we will tell about the history of the construction of the road, controversial issues, its role in the foreign policy of Russia and China.

At the lecture-excursion "Boxer Rebellion" we will consider the peculiarities of domestic and foreign policy of China in the conditions of dependence on foreign powers, the role of Russia in the history of the conflict, the participation of Far Easterners in the intervention, the outcome and consequences.
